Here are some very interesting luxury vehicle metrics …
Auto sales are expected to rise once more this year; the sixth year in a row – BMO Financial
More than 187,700 cars luxury cars were sold in Canada last year – DesRosiers Automotive Consultants
This number represents over 10% of the entire Canadian market – DesRosiers Automotive Consultants
Zack Spencer, founder of the auto-info/review MotorMouth.ca portal believes that
Buying new is more achievable for many Canadians than buying used.”
He also adds that,
Auto manufacturers are providing all kinds of incentives and cheap financing, so the cost to buy a car and finance it are very, very low. Many have zero percent interest or very low finances: 1.9 or 2.9 %. If you go to bank and get a car loan to buy a three-year-old Honda civic, they’re not going to charge you 0 % interest or 2.9 %, so your carrying costs on that money are much more expensive than buying that new car.”
It’s more than fair to say that the BBC’s Top Gear is their largest global cash cow. Jeremy Clarkson, prior to his sacking, had previously come precariously close to relinquishing his position on several occasions due to his trademark (& suitably arrogant) shenanigans. The BBC clearly had a very difficult, mercenary and tactical decision to make … cue a certain ginger, bespectacled TV presenter.
Chris Evans is the new main man & has signed a three year deal.
Kim Shillinglaw, Controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, said:
“I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward.”
I’m so delighted that Chris will be presenting the next series of Top Gear. His knowledge of and passion for cars is well-known, and combined with his sheer inventiveness and cheeky unpredictability he is the perfect choice to take our much-loved show into the future.
Chris is a huge fan of Top Gear and has great respect for the craft and work ethic of one of the best production teams in the world. He knows the phenomenal attention to detail it takes to make a single sequence of Top Gear, let alone a whole series. He is already full of brilliant ideas and I can’t wait for him to get started.”
“It‘s fantastic news for Top Gear fans around the world that such a brilliant broadcaster as Chris will be the figurehead for the brand across the globe.”
