The Mitsubishi car range are packed full of Active Safety Systems, which is technology that assists in the prevention of a crash.
Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS)
ABS is an active safety system which can help a driver avoid obstacles and a collision during heavy braking or while braking on slippery road surfaces. It prevents the wheels from locking up under heavy braking or while braking on slippery road surfaces, thereby allowing the driver to maintain steering control and steer around potential obstructions and/or avoid collisions.
Active Cornering Lights (ACL)
ACL provides support for night driving by additionally illuminating the direction in which the vehicle is moving in accordance with the steering angle. 35W halogen bulbs are used in the cornering lights.
Active Stability and Traction Control (ASC)
Active Stability and Traction Control helps drivers maintain control in adverse driving conditions and during emergency maneuvers. It constantly monitors available traction and alerts the control unit, which works with the vehicle’s anti-lock braking system to counteract slipping or loss of control by applying the brakes on specific wheels to help keep the vehicle moving in the intended direction.
e-Assist is a new active safety system that uses millimeter-wavelength radar as well as a camera to further increase driving safety and peace of mind. it comprises of three functions such as:
Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM)
Lane Departure Warning System (LDW)
Adaptive Cruise Control System (ACC)
Electronic Time and Alarm Control System (ETACS)
ETACS is Mitsubishi’s unique system that controls all of the vehicle’s electrical components including the headlights, door mirrors, windshield wipers, etc. It provides peace of mind and convenience and supports driving by controlling all of the vehicle’s equipment precisely in a variety of situations.
Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution Body (RISE)
The reinforced impact safety evolution body RISE enhances passenger protection performance. In the event of a collision, efficient energy absorption and high cabin integrity are important. RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution body) achieves these features and enhances collision safety performance.
The rain-light sensor supports the field of vision of the driver by detecting the amount of rain and the amount of light and functioning automatically. The wipers detect raindrops on the front windshield glass surface and depending on the amount of rain operate in intermittent mode or switch the windshield wiper speed from low to high automatically.
SRS air bags are designed to supplement the protection provided by the seatbelts and the vehicle structure. 6-SRS Airbag System includes driver & passenger frontal impact airbags, driver & passenger side impact airbags, and side curtain airbags.
A knee airbag working together with the driver side frontal airbag can further enhance the protection of the driver in the event of a frontal collision by restraining movement of the driver’s lower legs.
There are few other safety features which are to be included in the Mitsubishi vehicles such as Emergency Brake Assist System (EBA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Parking Sensors, Blind Spot Warning System, Lane Departure Warning and Rear Cross traffic Alert (RCTA) etc.,
