The interior is quiet, with room for seven in three rows of seats. The seats in PHEV are upholstered in leather-look and fabric black color scheme interior giving a sophisticated and premium quality look. The one click power switch in the cockpit starts the Plug-in Hybrid EV System.
Outlander PHEV is equipped with fully automatic climate control with separate temperature controls for driver and front passenger. Convenient controls for the audio system and Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone system are mounted on the steering wheel for easy-to-reach access.
The new Outlander PHEV has the two-louver grille design with the Mitsubishi logo perched in the middle. It also features rain-sensing wipers that automatically detect moisture on the windscreen and activate the wipers at a speed appropriate to the amount of rain falling.
Lightweight alloy wheels with deep spokes enhance the styling on the lower half of the body. It is equipped with all-wheel drive also swap out the old manual parking brake for a new electric one.
The Outlander PHEV is powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and two high-performance electric motors. The S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system is based on the system used in the Lancer Evolution, but modified specifically for use in the Outlander PHEV for “maximum performance, efficiency, tractability, and safety.”
The Battery Charge mode uses the engine to charge the battery and can be used to maintain the battery charge level. The powerful, highly efficient MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system) engine minimizes CO2 emissions while maintaining incredible responsive 4WD performance.
