The CX-9’s SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter engine features an innovative dynamic pressure turbocharger that gives you power as soon as you hit the gas, nearly eliminating “turbo lag.” This instantaneous response is an important part of Mazda’s Jinba Ittai philosophy, which strives to achieve oneness between car and driver.

Weather and road conditions can change in an instant. That’s why Mazda’s available smart predictive i-ACTIV AWD all-wheel-drive system is on alert, monitoring conditions and ready to adjust power delivery to help give you optimal traction before your wheels can slip.

In every car we make, the focus is on responsiveness and driving enjoyment. Mazda’s three-row SUV is no exception. Engineered from the ground up with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, the CX-9 offers outstanding driving dynamics while achieving up to an EPA-estimated 28 HWY MPG.

By monitoring everything from outside temperature to throttle input and braking patterns, available i-ACTIV AWD predicts when an all-wheel drive might be needed. Then it preemptively optimizes torque distribution to help curb traction loss.

At speeds above 19 mph, available Distance Recognition Support System12 measures the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead and recommends a comfortable following distance. If your vehicle encroaches on this distance, a warning light illuminates.

That’s what available i-ACTIVSENSE safety innovations give you. They use advanced technologies like milli-wave radars and cameras to give you a sixth sense for safety, helping to alert you to hazards before they happen. It’s another way Mazda lets you focus on what matters most: driving.

Things To Keep In Mind Before Buying An SUV

An SUV ( or Sports Utility Vehicle) is a sign of luxury and class. Most of the people who dream of owning a car always want to have SUVs at their arsenals. However, before buying these beauties, there are certain things people need to keep in mind.

There are mainly three different groups of SUVs available in the market: mid-size and full-size and compact. However, in each group, there are also variations. The price, towing ability, passenger room and engine power also move up with the increase in size.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is one of the most important factors of an SUV. The compact SUVs are available in both 4 and 6 cylinder engines. These type of engine  achieve combined mileage between 20 to 25 mpg. Mid-size SUVs Typically comes with 6-cylinder engines. However, they can easily get replaced with 4 or 8 cylinder engines. These SUV achieve mileage figures between 15 to 19 mpg combined. The full-size SUVs usually have 8-cylinder engines. They achieve mileage figures between 13 to 20 mpg combined.

Passenger and Cargo Capacity

The mid-size SUVs have usually a single rear seat, but they can have an extra rear seat if they are larger in size. As a result, the larger ones can accommodate at least eight adults. The full-size SUVs have two rear seats and offer the seating capacity of at least eight adults. Like the mid-sized SUVs, the compact SUVs have a single rear seat and accommodate at least five adults.

For more cargo, rear seats can fold and remove to make room. The maximum cargo capacity of mid-size SUV is about 100 cubic feet. The full-size ones have a maximum cargo capacity of more than 100 cubic feet. The compact ones have a maximum capacity of 70 cubic feet.

Luxury and Safety

When it comes to convenience and luxury, regardless of the group  SUVs have similar features. Some of the most popular features are special rear-seat entertainment systems, keyless start systems and iPod interfaces, Bluetooth capability, navigation systems, heated seats, and automatic climate control.

SUV manufacturers do not compromise with passenger safety. They add best and newest safety technology to the SUV. Apart from the strong and sturdy frames, SUVs also come with features like stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes.

Comparing with normal cars an SUV is bigger, but not that big to cause problems. However, there is an issue to store it if the garage is small or there is another car inside your garage. In such a case, you can install an SUV lift that uses the vertical space of a garage. This lift makes sure that two cars can get easily parked using the floor space of only one vehicle.

Compact SUVs are the best when it comes to the operating costs. The fuel and maintenance costs are quite low in compact SUVs. However, the owners of mid-size and full-size SUVs find it hard to manage the fuel and maintenance costs.
