Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS)

ABS is an active safety system which can help a driver avoid obstacles and a collision during heavy braking or while braking on slippery road surfaces. It prevents the wheels from locking up under heavy braking or while braking on slippery road surfaces, thereby allowing the driver to maintain steering control and steer around potential obstructions and/or avoid collisions. 

Active Cornering Lights (ACL)

ACL provides support for night driving by additionally illuminating the direction in which the vehicle is moving in accordance with the steering angle. 35W halogen bulbs are used in the cornering lights. 

Active Stability and Traction Control (ASC)

Active Stability and Traction Control helps drivers maintain control in adverse driving conditions and during emergency maneuvers. It constantly monitors available traction and alerts the control unit, which works with the vehicle’s anti-lock braking system to counteract slipping or loss of control by applying the brakes on specific wheels to help keep the vehicle moving in the intended direction. 

e-Assist

e-Assist is a new active safety system that uses millimeter-wavelength radar as well as a camera to further increase driving safety and peace of mind. it comprises of three functions such as:

AS&G – Auto Stop and Go

AS&G idling stop automatically stops and starts the engine when the vehicle stops and starts.

As you can see in the above image, AS&G idling stop automatically stops and starts the engine when the vehicle stops and starts.

Idling Stop is a technology that automatically stops the engine when the vehicle stops. and automatically starts the engine when the vehicle starts moving again, for example when stopped and waiting at a traffic light. By turning off the engine when the car is in use but not moving, fuel economy is improved and CO2 is also reduced as exhaust gasses are eliminated when the engine is off. It works automatically and there is no difference between driving a car with AS&G and a car without it.

ACL – Active Cornering Lights

ACL provides support for night driving by additionally illuminating the direction in which the vehicle is moving in accordance with the steering angle.

35W halogen bulbs are used in the cornering lights. The system links with the turn signal light at speeds of 40km/h or less and also links with the angle of the steering wheel to additionally illuminating the direction in which the vehicle is moving. ACL makes driving at dark intersections, curves, etc. safer.

ACD  – Active Center Differential

The corporate philosophy of Mitsubishi Motors includes “Driving Pleasure” and “Toughness & Safety.” Our Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control System which controls both the driving force and braking force of the four wheels has made new-generation driving possible.

The ACD is a system that electronically controls the differential limit between the front and rear wheels to distribute an appropriate driving force to the four wheels. The system sets the base driving force distribution to 50:50 and controls the differential limit between the front and rear wheels from “Free” to “Locked 4WD.” It makes precise control a reality by using information about the wheel speed, the steering wheel angle, the engine torque, the brake pressure, and the yaw rate sensor, and combines a high level of traction performance and steering response adapted to the driving conditions.

2017 Mitsubishi Lancer – Be Confident in Your Own Lane!!!

The Lancer sedan is Mitsubishi’s long-running compact sedan that sits above the Mirage G4 in the automaker’s lineup.

Interior

The interior has been given a significant makeover, with a all-new dashboard design. Highlights include a 10.2-inch all-digital instrument panel (Smart Dashboard; optional), a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a reversing camera, and a 8-inch touch screen equipped infotainment system.

Overview of 2017 Mitsubishi i-MiEV !!!

Interior

The 2017 Mitsubishi i-Miev comfortably seats four passengers with plenty of headroom and legroom in the front and rear seats. The rear seats are designed with a 50/50 split fold-down, so if drivers need extra cargo space during their travels or trips to the grocery store, it’s available.

Mitsubishi to launch new MIVEC engine

Mitsubishi to launch new MIVEC engine (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control System – MIVEC), which is the general name for all engines equipped with the variable valve timing mechanism developed by Mitsubishi Motors.

Mitsubishi Motors has been focusing for a long time on technologies to control valve timing and amount of lift with the aim of achieving high power output, low fuel consumption, and low exhaust emissions. The MIVEC engine was first used in 1992 in the Mirage, and since then Mitsubishi Motors has been adding a number of enhancements to produce an even better performance. In the Outlander launched in 2005, the Delica D:5 and the Galant Fortis launched in 2007, Mitsubishi Motors adopted a mechanism that continuously and optimally controls the intake and exhaust valve timing.
Now, the all-new MIVEC engine controls both intake valve timing and amount of valve lift at the same time, all the time.

The all-new MIVEC engine with a simple SOHC structure is used for the Japanese-market GALANT FORTIS and GALANT FORTIS SPORTBACK from 2011, OUTLANDER from 2012.

Minimizing pumping loss contributes to very high fuel efficiency!

With a conventional gasoline engine, the intake air volume is controlled by a throttle valve, increasing the air intake resistance when a piston descends. MIVEC engine restrains this air intake resistance by controlling the intake valve lift as well as the valve opening/closing timing simultaneously and continuously. Thus it improves fuel consumption by reducing pumping loss during intake.

Features of the All-new MIVEC system – 2

The all-new MIVEC engine’s SOHC achieves continuous variable valve timing and lift!

The all-new continuously-variable valve system make valve lift stroke, the length of valve-opening time and valve opening timing continuously and simultaneously variable through a control shaft (see figure below).

With this mechanical interlock structure, cooperative control of hydraulic variable valve timing phase system becomes unnecessary. Accordingly the new MIVEC system can be adopted to the simple SOHC structure.
Consequently the new MIVEC realizes light weight and compact new engine. The all-new variable-valve structure simply adds an oscillating cam, a support shaft, and a center rocker arm to the conventional SOHC’s rotating cam, rocker arm and rocker shaft. The range of motion of the oscillating cam is made continuously variable by moving the fulcrum position of the center rocker arm through rotation of the control shaft (intake rocker shaft) by an electric motor.

2017 Mitsubishi Mirage Review!!!

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage remains one of the lowest-priced new cars on the North American market. One version of the Mirage hatchback is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid gasoline-powered vehicle available in North America.

Interior

Mitsubishi has upgraded seat materials for 2017 and swapped in a new steering wheel and some upgraded trims and switchgear. The most important part of the interior is the infotainment system, which now includes an optional 300-watt Rockford-Fosgate stereo system.
