2017 Kia K900 – Challenge the Luxury!!!

The 2017 Kia K900 is Kia’s first rear-drive full-size luxury sedan and, in size, it slots above the front-drive Cadenza and new-for-2018 Stinger.

Interior

The K900’s spacious interior provides abundant comforts—ranging from available heated and ventilated front and rear seats to available power-reclining rear seats with Air Cell Lumbar Support. From the 17-speaker surround sound Lexicon Logic 7 audio system created by GRAMMY Award-winning Harman, to the Dynamic Parking Guide System, to the hydrophobic glass that helps repel water, the K900 is packed with innovations designed to enhance your driving experience.

Design

The K900’s exterior design displays a certain amount of heft and maturity – it doesn’t attempt to appear windswept or sporty, aiming instead for a more conservative look. The Kia Design Team blended the features such as world-class wheelbase, prestige distance, sweeping shoulder line that gives the K900 its athletic bearing and confident stance.

The available Dynamic Bending Light (DBL) works in conjunction with the full LED headlights to deliver a beam that adapts—depending on vehicle speed and turning angle. The smooth character line, extending from the front grille across the doors, highlights its elegance.

Comfort

The K900 delivers a quiet cabin and a smooth overall ride with foam-padded cabin for exceptional insulation, a high-strength steel structure and a fully-independent front and rear suspension. The available 16-way adjustable power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, a heated steering wheel and laminated the windshield and side windows to help ensure the quietest cabin possible.

The Trimmed in soft Nappa leather and the available Power-Reclining Rear Seats recline at your whim. Also the Ventilated Rear Seats deliver a cushion of air for additional comfort you command. The full-length, tinted Panoramic Sunroof, framed by the available premium headliner, allows driver and passengers to experience soft natural light and a feeling of spaciousness.

Performance

Kia continues to offer the K900 in three trims with a choice of two engines such as a 311-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8 that cranks out 420 horsepower. Fuel-economy figures stand at 15 mpg city, 23 highway, and 18 combined.

Safety

The 2017 K900 continues to offer full range of standard safety features, such as full-length side-curtain airbags, hill-start assist, and traction control. The Luxury V8 trim adds a surround-view monitor, while optional safety equipment includes a head-up display, advanced smart cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.

The available Blind-Spot Detection uses side mirror-mounted radar to help detect vehicles alongside and behind the K900. The Lane Departure Warning System uses a rear view mirror-mounted camera to read and help analyze the road ahead.

Kia Stinger – Drive Wise Technologies

Capture

Offering luxurious amenities and unexpected features have become part of Kia’s DNA and the Stinger continues that tradition.

The car is apparently going to be available with two turbocharged engines. One of them being a 3 liter twinturbo V6 with 365 bhp, which should make it go from 0-100 in the 5 seconds market and have a top speed of 269 kph.

DRIVEWISE TECHNOLOGY:

Driver Attention Alert (DAA)

maxresdefault

Multiple Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) seamlessly work together to enhance the driving experience. Traffic Safety Administration conservatively estimates that police-reported crashes are the direct result of driver fatigue each year. This results in more injuries and even deaths. A Kia first is the new Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system to help combat distracted or drowsy driving.  The system monitors a number of inputs from the vehicle and the driver and will sound a warning chime and display a graphic in the instrument binnacle that it’s time to take a break from driving if it senses the driver’s attention level has been significantly reduced.

Forward Collision Assistance (FCA)

P000001558_E000041232

A collision avoidance system is an automobile safety system designed to reduce the severity of a collision. It uses radar (all-weather) and sometimes laser (LIDAR) and camera (employing image recognition) to detect an imminent crash. GPS sensors can detect fixed dangers such as approaching stop signs through a location database. Once the detection is done, these systems either provide a warning to the driver when there is an imminent collision or take action autonomously without any driver input, by Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Collision avoidance by braking is appropriate at low vehicle speeds (e.g. below 50 km/h), while collision avoidance by steering is appropriate at higher vehicle speeds. Cars with collision avoidance may also be equipped with adaptive cruise control, and use the same forward-looking sensors.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

P000001552_E000041228

The Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS) is an assistance system and does not relieve the driver from his/her responsibility to safely operate the vehicle at any time. The driver still has to adapt his/her driving behaviour to his/her personal driving capabilities, to the legal requirements and to the overall road and traffic conditions. AEBS is not designed to drive the vehicle autonomously. For further information, please refer to the owner’s manual.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Kias-Rear-Cross-Traffic-Alert_O

Rear cross traffic alert is designed to warn you of cars that are entering your backing path. You may not be able to see these cars as quickly as your rear cross traffic alert system can on a road or in a parking lot. Sensors around the rear of the car detect vehicles approaching from the left and right. A warning tone and flashing light on the mirrors or dashboard alert the driver to stop. These systems only work when you are backing straight out of a space or driveway. They don’t work in angled parking spots.

Lane Keep Assist (LKA)

P000001561_E000041238

It actively monitors the vehicle’s intended lane and will alert the driver with an audible warning along with providing steering input to help maintain the vehicle’s position.

Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC)

P000001562_E000041240

A radar sensor at the front of the car monitors the gap between the vehicle ahead. The system automatically applies the brakes to maintain a Pre-determined ‘safe’ distance and will even bring the vehicle to a complete stop, if necessary. The system will initiate take-off when car ahead moves on. Set and maintain a constant speed, and simply step on the brake or accelerator when you want to disengage.

2017 Kia Sportage First Drive!!!

The 2017 Kia Sportage beefs up its sport-shoe styling—and its hardware—as it tackles the crossover-SUV niche head-on. It refuses to blend in with the compact crossover crowd.

Interior

The new Sportage gets a more luxurious interior and a suite of (optional) technology.Softer touch materials that look like leather are littered throughout the cabin. Kia increased the amount of noise reduction material in the wheel wells and inside the cabin.

2017-Kia-Sportage-interior

The appearance of space is also enhanced by the new panoramic glass sunroof which is over four inches longer than the old model. Both heated and ventilated seats with three stages of operation provide the driver and passenger with extra comfort.

Design

Style has always been second nature to the Sportage. The “tiger-nose” grille – a hallmark of Schreyer – was moved up to accommodate the “ice-cube” fog lamps, while the headlights sweep back along the sides of the car.

2017-kia-sportage-exterior

The main thing to note is that the bumpers have been smoothed into the front end so smoothly that it looks like there’s no bumper there at all. Throw in the big 19-inch wheels and the new Sportage is a handsome beast.

Performance

Kia offers a choice between two four-cylinder powertrains on the 2017 Sportage. The Sportage LX and EX have a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The Sportage SX has a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 240 hp (237 hp in AWD versions) and 260 lb-ft. Both of these engines have been better tuned for fuel economy and mid-range performance.

2017_Sportage_EX performance

Safety

Extensive use of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) combined with an extremely well-reinforced chassis design and the trusted hot-stamping process has given birth to the safest and quietest Sportage to date. The 2017 Sportage is a completely redesigned model, and crash tests have proven it a good protector.

2017 Kia Picanto Revealed!!!

Overview

The third-generation Picanto will be presented in European specification at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show this coming March. Kia has unveiled the third-generation Picanto city car to take on the new Holden Spark. Now in its third generation, the Picanto has adopted more sporty styling inspired by Kia’s potent Ceed GT and Pro Ceed GT models.

picanto-overview

The profile borrows much from the larger Rio, with a simple and subtle look, while the rear of the new Picanto will build on its predecessor’s hooked tail-light design. In GT-Line form, the 2017 Kia Picanto boasts a sporty chromatic identity and a body kit inspired by hot hatchbacks.

Interior

The interior exhibits a vibrant design dominated by oval-shaped outer air vents, a neatly integrated touchscreen-based infotainment system, and two-tone part-leather seats. Leather (or perhaps synthetic hide) adorns much of the furnishings including seats, steering wheel, door arm rests and gear gaiter complete with red flashes or stitching.

picanto-int

The interior changes are headlined by a new young audience-targeting central touchscreen which appears to offer access to a number of services including navigation, while the surrounding hardware has been modernized with a symmetrical look and digital control panel.

Styling

The main changes will mostly be seen up front where the firm’s latest signature ‘tiger’ grille will be found flanked by new headlight clusters with bold LED daytime running lights. Regarding technology and safety, the highlights come in the form of a more rigid chassis and body, Torque Vectoring Brake Based , Autonomous Emergency Brake, and a knee airbag for the driver.

styling

The theme continues into the cabin, where the Picanto will feature a Rio-like ‘floating’ look for its main display screen – still a popular trend across the market. The Picanto has a 15mm longer wheelbase compared with the current model. The GT Line model features a bright red trim piece from almost every angle.

Engine

The replacement Picanto is expected to use heavily revised versions of the existing 1.0-litre and 1.25-litre petrol engines. Kia’s excellent 1.0-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder engine used in the Cee’d may also be a possibility, but whether Kia decides to fit the 98hp variant into the Picanto is yet to be confirmed.

2017-kia-picanto-engine

Power for the new Kia Picanto is likely to come from the same 65bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 85bhp 1.25-litre four-cylinder engines, while low emissions and strong fuel economy will give the newcomer a fighting chance in the hard-fought city car class.
